On the afternoon of the 18th, a villager from Taiba Village in the local area told Red Star News that six people have been buried and lost, and the collapsed one is a local temple with a history of hundreds of years. At the time of the incident, six people entered the temple to take shelter from the rain.

According to local media reports, Qingyuan Mountain is located to the north of Taiba Village in Taiba Town. Qingyuan Ancient Temple was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1668). In 2004, the road from Taiba to Qingyuan Temple was opened, and measures such as temple reconstruction were taken.

Another villager explained that the temple collapsed on the evening of the 16th, and the trapped individuals have been missing for more than 2 days. They are a family of six, one of whom is a classmate of his son. In addition, heavy rain has caused poor communication and road sections to be blocked. "Many roads are not yet open, and many rescue workers have walked up," he said

Subsequently, Red Star News learned from the Taiba Town government and local emergency management department that preliminary verification confirmed that six people were buried and lost due to a landslide, and the search and rescue team is currently in emergency search and rescue.

According to "Shanghang Rong Media", since 6:00 pm on June 16th, Shanghang County has experienced continuous heavy rainfall, with 11 townships experiencing rainfall exceeding 250mm and 15 townships experiencing 24-hour rainfall exceeding historical extremes. The main rivers in the area, including Tingjiang River, Jiuxian River, and Huangtan River, have been in emergency, with the highest exceeding the warning water level of 3.78 meters.
