Xi Jinping sends a letter to congratulate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Whampoa Military Academy

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Whampoa Military Academy and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, sent a congratulatory letter, expressing warm congratulations to the Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, and sincere greetings to the vast number of Whampoa alumni and their relatives at home and abroad.

In his congratulatory letter, Xi Jinping pointed out that the Whampoa Military Academy was the product of the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and was the first school in my country to train revolutionary military cadres. The Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association is a patriotic mass organization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China that connects Whampoa alumni and their relatives at home and abroad. Since its establishment, it has always adhered to the purpose of "carrying forward the Whampoa spirit, connecting classmates, promoting the reunification of the motherland, and devoting itself to the revitalization of China", serving the overall development of the Party and the country, and has made positive contributions to expanding cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, opposing "Taiwan independence" secession, and promoting the reunification of the motherland.


Xi Jinping emphasized that on the new journey, the Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association must bear in mind the purpose and political mission of the association, continue to carry forward the Huangpu spirit of "patriotism and revolution", further strengthen ideological guidance and organizational construction, give full play to its unique advantages, firmly oppose "independence" and promote reunification, and widely gather strength to work together to realize the Chinese dream. I hope that the majority of Huangpu classmates and their relatives at home and abroad will not forget the will of their predecessors, bravely shoulder the responsibilities of the times, actively participate in China's modernization construction, and contribute to the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation.

A symposium commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Huangpu Military Academy and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association was held in Beijing on the 17th. Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter was read at the meeting. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and spoke.

We must study and understand in depth and implement it well.

Wang Huning said that Huangpu classmates and relatives at home and abroad have a glorious history and fine tradition of patriotism and revolution, and are an important force in promoting the reunification of the motherland and national rejuvenation.
